Area high school bowlers headed for regional action in Evansville

County high school bowlers converged on Alex Alleys with a trip to the Evansville Regional at stake. J.T. Chadd and Shayna Wahl earned sectional champion honors on the evening.

Eagle bowler Chadd staved off a charging Cody Fulford of Greencastle, who shot an impressive 257 in his second game, to walk away with the title. Chadd finished the evening with a 930 points and Fulford tallied 914. Chadd leapfrogged Fulford as he trailed 615-588 after three games.

Greencastle's Jacob Ensor came in third with a total of 903 and Michael Rumley and Travis Giannachini rounded out the boys' qualifiers with scores of 881 and 825 respectively.

For the girls, Wahl finished with a 685 to earn her trip to Evansville.

The regional will be held in Evansville on Feb. 9.
