Ronald Wayne Nickerson

Ronald Wayne Nickerson, 77, formerly of Cloverdale, died Wednesday in Florida.

Born in Putnam County, he was the son of Daniel and Verna (Lasley) Nickerson. He married Shirley Parker in 1952 and she preceded him in death. He married Madeline Nickerson, and she survives.

A 1948 graduate of Cloverdale High School, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force and later worked for IBM where he retired after 32 years of service.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Cloverdale American Le-gion.

Additional survivors include his children, Becki Patterson, Danny Nickerson, Vera Cline, Linda Clingan and Robbie Nickerson and wife Helene; his step-children, Dawn Richard, and Christine Pickett and husband Ben; nine grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, one great-grandson; three bro-thers, Hubert Nickerson, Eddie Nicke-rson and wife Nancy, and Keith Nickerson and wife Shirley; two sisters, Virginia (Ginner) Keller and Betty Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Holbert, George and Eugene.

Funeral services will be conducted in Florida at a later date and time yet to be determined and a memorial service will also be conducted in Cloverdale at a later date.
