Urgent: Winter Storm Warning

Thursday, January 31, 2008

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from 7 p.m. Thursday to 7 p.m Friday. The storm will bring a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain to large parts of Indiana.

A snow acumination of five to 10 inches will be possible in the region including Putnam County, with the heaviest snowfall between midnight and 9 a.m. Friday. A mixture of snow, sleet and freezing drizzle may persist into Friday.

A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice are expected or already occurring. Strong winds are also possible and the National Weather Service warns that travel will be very hazardous or impossible.
