Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Putnam County emergency services were scrambling Tuesday night to get assistance to people in need after a severe thunderstorm swept through the area.

Central Dispatch radio traffic reported damage in the VanBibber Lake and Roachdale areas, mainly down trees.

Power outages were reported in Bainbridge, Roachdale as well as at the intersection of U.S. 36 and U.S. 231, and in the VanBibber Lake area.

Putnam County Highway Dept. crews were dispatched to take care of trees down on roads in several locations.
