North Putnam Middle School wrestlers in action at Northridge

The North Putnam Middle School wrestling team competed in Northridge's Cougars duels on Saturday. The Cougars were 0-3 on the day but three wrestlers posted perfect records at the meet.

North Putnam wrestlers Larry Sexton, Cody Oliver and Nathaniel Crosby all went 3-0.

North faced Benton Central for their first action of the day. Picking up wins for the Cougars were Brayden Montgomery, Sexton, Josh Eising, Oliver, William Humphries, Eric Davis, Crosby and Randall Cox. Chad Keyt and Joe Mindiola were winners in exhibition matches. North Putnam lost 51-46.

North faced off with Northridge in its second match and had six wrestlers post victories. Sexton, Eising, Oliver, Crosby, Derek Eisman and Ben Wiatt picked up the wins.

The Cougars came up short, falling 87-28.

In their third match of the day, North Putnam was edged out by Wea Ridge 63-54. Recording victories for the Cougars Montomery, Sexton, Keyt, Mindiola, Oliver, Davis, Crosby and Cox.

North Putnam will travel to Rockville for a 6 p.m. start on Thursday.
