'Save a Life Tour' teaches students alcohol awareness

Monday, March 24, 2008

Local students are invited to attend the Save a Life Tour at Indiana University, 900 E. 7th Street, Bloomington on Wednesday, March 26 from 1-6 p.m.

The tour is a high impact national campaign promoting alcohol awareness and demonstrating the debilitating results alcohol has on the motor and nerve centers of the human body.

The state-of-the-art Simulation Experience immerses students in a realistic and virtual drinking and driving situation. Students feel like they are driving a car while intoxicated.

Drivers begin the experience "sober." Then controls are adjusted to make the student feel they are driving drunk. They begin to lose control of the road, their focus becomes blurred and they are tested with different elements of nature.

To enhance the experience, 8-foot-by-10-foot monitors display the driver's point of view and an overhead view from a helicopter. There is even a casket on display.

The Save a Life Tour had been endorsed by the United States Navy, Marines, Army and Air Force as well a numerous insurance companies, hospitals, universities and high schools across the nation as an effective educational experience.

Edu-tainment by Kramer, the nations largest provider of high-tech, interactive attractions and entertainment presents the tour.
