SP grad Harris excelling at Alabama-Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala -- The No. 1 ranked University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers are sporting a 30-5 record and South Putnam grad Amy Harris is powering the offense.

Harris is coming off a season where she batted .281 and collected five triples and six doubles. She led the Chargers with 12 homers. Harris was voted to the second team All-Gulf South Conference and the GSC All-Tournament team for the 2007 campaign. She also earned the UAH Athletic Bronze scholar award.

Harris is currently batting .381 for the Chargers, scoring 30 runs on 40 hits. She leads the team is home runs with seven and in RBI with 34. She was voted GSC Player of the Week on Feb. 19.
