Former Roachdale officer arrested

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

A former Roachdale reserve police officer was arrested over the weekend for alleged sexual assault.

Thomas Heath Wolf was arrested last Friday, April 4 on charges of trespassing, public intoxication and sexual battery for allegedly making sexual advances to several women in town.

The alleged incidents began on March 9 at the Roachdale Mini-Mart.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Wolf entered the store at 8:45 p.m. and promptly went behind the counter and sat down. When store employee Krista Evans, 18, asked him what he was doing, he stated that he had sat in the chair on previous occasions, according to the affidavit.

At that time, Wolf stated he was drunk and began trying to prompt the nine-month pregnant Evans into the office to, "tell her a secret."

She attempted to get him to come out of the office to tell her and mentioned that the whole incident was being videotaped. Wolf then stated that he had reviewed the video system as a law enforcement officer, "and it was crap."

After asking Wolf to leave, Evans agreed to give him a hug for the purposes of getting him to leave when he tried to kiss her.

Following his departure from the Mini-Mart, Wolf phoned the business trying to get Evans to come to his house, the affidavit states. She then telephoned her uncle who came to the store and saw Wolf pass the business twice.

According to the affidavit, Wolf then went to the house of Jessica Miles, 26, Roachdale and walked up on her porch. A friend of Miles, Nicole Tubbs, 29, then witnessed Wolf place both his hands down the back of Miles' pants and was pushed away by Miles, according to the affidavit.

Wolf then attempted to get Tubbs to leave with him. Both Miles and Tubbs reported Wolf being intoxicated during the alleged incident.

Wolf was arrested back on February 8, 2008 for invasion of privacy and resisting law enforcement and was let out on bond when these new charges occurred.

His initial court date for these new charges was Monday where the judge was to decide whether to revoke his bond or not.

  • I can't believe this story made headlines, this is really getting out of hand what the media prints. We have a lot more problems going on in this county and i think the only reason this was made a big deal of was what the healines read, a former cop. Maybe you should print more stories about the drugs being given to kids in this county and the real criminals.

  • This isn't news? Are you kidding me?

  • It's news..

  • I agree that this is newsworthy... for the simple fact that this news story may lead to other victims coming forward who may (or may not) had similar experiences.

  • Exactly. There is a big enough problem with people being afraid to come forward. This might help with that.

  • This guy sounds out-of-control when he's plastered. I'm guessing that this is the sort of behaviour that got him fired from the Force in the first place.

Lock him up for awhile to 'dry out' (3-5 years sounds about right to me).

It's a shame that crumb-bums like this are ever hired on the Force in the first place... his being touted as a "Former Officer" just lessens the Public Trust that we put in our Law Officers.

  • I dont' think reserves count as cops!

  • I think this is news.

I also think that most of the "reserves" are "wannabee's". We don't need more cops and deputies, we need better run departments and more efficient officers. We don't need the black commando outfits, dark tinted glass and swat teams. What we need are officers and deputies that are personable and visible. These are the people that should be able to have a conversation with the townspeople and should be known and respected by a lot of the citizens. How many do you actually know?

Next time we need to enforce a smoking ordinance at Moore's Bar we don't need 5 officers surrounding the place to issue a couple of citations to a few peaceful citizens. What about the lady that stepped out the back door for a smoke and was arrested for public intoxication? Was that what the ordinance was written for? Sounds like the city is really interested in entrapment to me. I hope they fight these charges.

  • Until you losers know what is really going on in this county, shut your pieholes. For the misinformed, he was not fired from the police dept, goes to show you what a bunch of ignorant fools we hve in this area. obviously you have all had a run in with the cops and take any opportunity to bash them. What a bunch of losers!

  • How can anyone say this is not news? If there is someone assulting women in the town I live in I want to know about it!! How could the judge justify letting him bond out again, he was already out on bond for resisting law enforcement. He should be locked up for the crimes he has comitted! His actions are all on tape at the mini-mart how will he get out of this one? This man is not allowed in putnam county with out someone over the age of 18 with him I wonder how Mongomery County likes their new resident? Every woman there should now be on the lookout!!!

  • this is retarded u all need to get a life

-- Posted by heathhater on Fri, Apr 11, 2008, at 10:47 PM
  • To Heathhater, you sound about as intelligent as someone who has a personal vendetta against him. Why don't you get a life and quit accusing people of something they haven't been convicted of yet. Go crawl back under your rock where you belong.

  • Most reserves volunteer their time to help the community. If that is not their goal they should be removed. If they are doing it for themselves they need to go. The majority have good careers that pay more than the average officer makes. They spend their own money to buy the uniforms and equipment it takes to perform the job. They spend many hours training and generally take the assignments nobody else wants. They are called out on a moments notice to help with domestic situations, accidents, or most any duty a merit deputy does with the same knowledge and professionalism expected of them as a full time officer. Did I mention this was free labor and no cost to taxpayers? They are fully empowered police officers and really are cops. Even if you do not believe they are and do not approve of them, they will be there to help,if called, with the utmost care, courtesy, and professionalism. For more information on reserve programs, you may contact your local police agency. You may be surprised at how it really works!

  • I think that it is terrible that garbage like this has made the front page of the paper. This poor man has not been convinced of this ridiculous crime. It is amazing to me how a crazy ex-wife feels that she is entitled to try to ruin someone's life by making up multiple false accusations against someone when in the end it only hurts their family the most. Instead of gossiping about the situation everyone should be praying for Heaths family to make it through these difficult times that are upon him. My family and I firmly stand behind him knowing that all of the accusations are false and he would never do anything that would reflect poorly upon him, his family, or his community who he has gladly served.

-- Posted by respect on Sun, Apr 13, 2008, at 6:46 PM
  • Like an ex-wife could fabricate charges like this. This has nothing to do with an ex-wife, it has to do with a man sexually assaulting 3 women! These are someone's daughters! Intoxicated or not, NO ONE has the right to do this and there is no exception to that rule!

-- Posted by heathhater on Sun, Apr 13, 2008, at 7:04 PM
  • Like a lot of things in life events can be manipulated. Events that could be intended as being a friend to someone can be manipulated into being something that it's not. The manipulation is where I believe the craziness gets involved. It's interesting that these charges surfaced after he was awarded custody of his children. Although these woman are someone's daughters, Heath is someone's son, father, brother and friend…these people are hurting because of these false accusations too, not just the accusers.

-- Posted by respect on Sun, Apr 13, 2008, at 7:56 PM
  • To respect, get your facts straight! He has not been given custody of his children! The accusations were brought on weeks before they ever made paper. He should of thought of what he was doing to his children before he started assulting wemen or driving his children around drunk! It is a shame what those children are going through, but Heath is the one who has done all of this!!!

-- Posted by heathhater on Mon, Apr 14, 2008, at 7:50 AM
  • Heathhater, let's check the facts here, first of all Heath didn't start this whole mess. He might drink, but doesn't about 95% of the people in this county drink? I am almost certain that you do too. Kids, well i think these kids are being hurt more by what they witnessed at the elementary school not too long ago. From what i can tell the ex- wife is hurting these kids alot more than anything, by her actions. Who is to say what is going on with her and the way she acts, that these kids are being hurt much more emotionally by that and not something their father does when they are not around. As far as charges go, creditability should account for something more than heathaters that make accusations and can't even spell the words correctly.

  • What a town..Reserve officers assaulting females, town boards refusing to let the taxpayers know how they spend the tax funds, Sheriffs under Federal investigation, and best of all, if one dares to question their property taxes, the government labels one as a criminal and insists on searching their homes. The last time I checked the Constitution of these United States, the only reason the Govt could enter the homes of citizens was if they are suspected criminals and a probable cause affadavit was filed. The people of this community seem to always defend their leaders..Strange lot...I knew the second someone from the Fire Department knocked on my front WINDOW at 10:00pm demanding I fill out a form stating how much money I made a year and if I were single or not, this was one messed up town. Heres hoping my house sells soon!! I want to move back to America.

  • I am a montgomery county resident and I hope the montgomery police are aware of the news about Heath Wolf. Divorced or not, his ex-wife did not have him assault 3 women one of whom is pregnant. Quit blaming the ex-wife and take responsibility for your actions. The children are the ones who will pay for your crimes, just not your children but those of whom you assaulted. I hope your happy with yourself, personally you make me sick to think you were a law enforcement officer of anykind, you have given the police a bad image. You have lied, stolen, and cheated so much that you and your family will suffer because you can't tell the truth. I think Roachdale should clean house and really do better background checks. To Heathater, I agree with you and the ones who don't must have something to hide. To Magoo I know Mr. Magoo was blind so maybe you should put on bigger glasses or take your blinders off. They have a video tape of his crime. Guilty until proven innocent, what more proof than a video tape?

  • For the ones who want to blame his ex-wife for his behavior, did anyone read her name in the paper anywhere? No you didn't because she was at home taking care of their kids while Heath was out assulting women. How could she possibly have made him do what he has done? For the record, he absolutely does NOT have custody of their kids so you need to get your facts straight. He has visitation. Also he was made to resign from the police force because his ex-wife had to get a protection order against him & his "cop friends" still allowed him to patrol. If the Town Marshal would've done his job & never made the comment that he wouldn't arrest Heath no matter what he does, maybe Heath wouldn't have thought he could do whatever he wanted to do against women. Roachdale Police have tried their hardest to cover for Heath, but now what he has done is on video. As far as the comment about what happened at Roachdale Elem, Heath had removed their oldest daughter from school early that day & was attempting to take their son from his school as well when his ex-wife showed up & got it stopped & who was behind that? The Town Marshal was. I agree we need better police depts in all towns. Real cops who choose to do what's right instead of trying to protect the criminals because of their personal friendships with them. His ex-wife & kids want to left alone so they can move on & try to have a normal life.

  • To heathhater, get a life and stop trying to make other people's life miserable just because you are unhappy with your own. These children should be the main focus and to another previous comment, I'm sure that she was at home with the kids....brain washing them and that SHOULD be a crime.

  • AMEN SONICFILTER!!! Finally someone who understands what is really going on with these crazy people!!

-- Posted by heathhater on Tue, Apr 15, 2008, at 9:49 AM
  • You are absolutely right, Heathater, soni, whatever his name is finally understands what lunatics are and what they stand for, people with names light heathater. You are really a psycho with all the reasoning you have for justification for people who thinks it is alright for mothers to stand in front of a bunch of children screaming profanities to the point of having a lockdown at the school, really good for ALL the children. SO now, try to mask that from being true with a 100 witnesses.

  • Mahoy or magoo whatever you like to be called, you may want to proof read before you submit what you have written your intelligence is really showing!! To montgomery co.resident it looks like magoo has not found those new glasses yet!!

-- Posted by heathhater on Wed, Apr 16, 2008, at 3:02 PM
  • Oh Heathhater, It looks like i struck a nerve! You ran out of things to defend yourself, especially when the truth comes out. You couldn't find anything else nasty to say because the truth overcomes all the lies you submit to the paper. I have won!!

    -- Posted by magoo55 on Thu, Apr 17, 2008, at 7:42 AM
  • To Magoo I don't believe Heathater struck a nerve. More like Heath struck a nerve with his bad choices. As an outsider it sounds that if you are trying to protect a man that has no morals. Do you have an agenda to protect a person that is on video trying to assault a pregnant woment. If not why would any person try to protect Heath unless they too have something to lose?

-- Posted by montgomery county resident on Sun, Apr 20, 2008, at 1:21 PM
  • To Montgomery County res., where you there? Did you see the tape? Sounds like you have already convicted and executed the guy. It may be that you are friends with Heathhater? Maybe you should remember, innocent until proven guilty? I bet if you checked real close, we would find out that you are not holier than thou either! Watch what you say about something you know nothing about, unless that is, you are getting your info from Heathhater, and yes i did strike a nerve. Not hard to do when the nerve you are striking is a big liar and someone who fabricates stories to make themselves look better. We Know!!

    -- Posted by magoo55 on Sun, Apr 20, 2008, at 5:34 PM
  • To Magoo: I don't know why you show your ignorance on the public announcements. I never claimed to be holier than thou, however I can say I have never been in trouble with the law. As far as seeing the tape, no I haven't but maybe you have by the way you defend this man and if the tape shows nothing than that would be the innocent verdict, if it does show something that there is Heath's GUILT. REAGARDLESS at this point the Prosecutor of Putnam County decided to charge this man with a very life altering crime against another person and I am pretty sure the Prosecutor has a very good reason to. Afterall, the Prosecutor is doing his job or do you think he too should turn the other way? The newspaper article mentioned the tape and that is where I got my information along with all other people who read the Banner Graphic that day. As far as Heathater, it appears that you have a very personal interest in this and Heathater is apparently tired of people trying to get away with breaking the law. Magoo are you the law? If so it would be in the people of Roachdales best interest that you serve and protect without BIAS. My faith in God is not the topic of this article. However, if you must know I do believe that whether Heath is found innocent or GUILTY that he will have to meet his maker and answer for his actions.

  • Oh i do believe in prosecuting people to full extent, but let's remind ourselves that we are all human and we make mistakes as have been done in people being prosecuted for something they were not guilty of doing! As far as you being a God fearing person, as you say you are, maybe you should have followed the bible and not start Judging people for things you know nothing about. As far as being ignorant, You shouldn't be calling someone else ignorant, when in fact you are ignorant in your trying to use God to make everything you say, be just that, GODS WORD. Go read the bible a little more and stay off the computer, you will be better off and maybe God will love you a little more.
