April 13 -- 19 is National Library Week. The library will have bookmarks, pencils & treats during the week to celebrate National Library Week, so stop by your library! Visit the library website, www.putnam.lib.in.us, for a special message from spokesperson Julie Andrews

Wednesday, April 16, The Columbus, Indiana Story, 7 p.m. Mac Mackenzie, Assistant Professor of Art at DePauw University, will present Columbus' unique architectural history and the stories of the people behind it.

Thursday, April 17, PC READS Brown Bag Discussion: An Unfinished Life by Mark Spragg, 12 -- 1:30 p.m. This is the first in a series of community discussions, to be held throughout 2008. Participants are encouraged to bring their thoughts on the book for discussion--and a brown bag lunch! Dessert & drinks provided by the Friends of the Library.

Thursday, April 17, Poem in Your Pocket Day! In honor of National Poetry Month, the library will join the Academy of American Poets to celebrate the first national

Poem In Your Pocket Day. Visit the Library and pick up a poem from a basket of preprinted ones, choose your own from their poetry collection to copy, or browse for one at www.poets.org
