'Spring Dessert' April 29

"An Antique Road Show" is the theme of the 2008 Extension Home-maker's Spring Dessert and recognition program which is scheduled for 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 29 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

Members of the Northern Lights Extension Homemakers Club have been planning the event with assistance from members of the Town and Country Club. They will be serving 'old fashioned' refreshments to go along with the theme of the program.

Jack Lawson of Lawson and Company will be the guest speaker for the evening. He will evaluate and provide approximate values to a number of antiques which will be brought in by Extension Homemaker Club members.

The purpose of the annual Spring Dessert is to recognize and welcome new members who have joined the organization since last spring. Approximately twenty new members will be recognized from all areas of the county.

Prior to the evening's program, guests will have the opportunity to view and vote on their choice of Cultural Arts exhibits.

One item from the exhibit will be chosen to represent Putnam County at the 2008 Home and Family Conference at Purdue University in June. Viewing and voting on the Cultural Arts Exhibits begins at 6 p. m.

All Extension Homemaker members are encouraged to bring a hand crafted item to exhibit in the Cultural Arts display. Items for the display should be brought to the Community Building at the Fairgrounds between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on April 29.

Putnam County IEHA President, Betty Workman, and the membership committee encourage all members to attend and to bring a guest or two.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Putnam County Extension Homemaker Association is also welcome to attend.
