Greencastle Police Dept.

Several accidents were reported recently:

* On April 11 at 1:27 p.m. Morgan Hubble, 17, Greencastle, failed to see Sandra Amers, 43, Greencastle, stopped on Franklin St. and rear-ended her.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* On April 12 at 3:24 p.m. Amber Keck, 21, Greencastle, reported that her brakes locked up in the turn lane to Wal-Mart and she slid on the wet pavement and slid into the back of David Zuwerink, 28, Lewis Center, Ohio.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* On April 13 at 10:33 a.m. Timothy Turner, 50, Greencastle, was backing from a parking spot in Speedway Gas Station parking lot and backed into the side of Adam Clute, 18, Greencastle, who was traveling across the parking lot.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* At 5:28 p.m. Mindell Ritter, 43, Rockville, ran the stop sign at Percy Julian Drive & Avenue D, hitting Carole Scaggs, 63, Greencastle.

Damage estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

Several Tickets were issued recently:

* On April 11 at 6:45 p.m. Terry King II, 21, Coatesville, was ticketed by Officer Chris Helmer on Indianapolis Road and 5th St. for an unsafe start.

* At 9:40 p.m. Christopher Campbell, 32, Greencastle, was ticketed by Reserve Officer Zack Minnick on Indianapolis Rd. and Judson Dr. for driving while suspended.

* On April 13 at 8:28 p.m. Dennis Shillings, 27, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Eric Vaughan on Shadowlawn Ave. for possession of marijuana under 30 grams.

Sheriff's Department

Three accidents were reported Thursday.

* At 7:30 a.m. Stacey Robinson, 36, Greencastle, was headed north on 231 near the Marathon Station when Jarrod Kennedy, 20, Bainbridge, pulled out in front of her. Robinson struck Kennedy in the left front fender spinning Kennedy clockwise where he came to a rest in the north lane, facing east. Robinson's car came to a rest in the middle of the roadway just north of Daggy St. Kennedy was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.

Damage estimates were between $5,000 - $10,000.

* At 9:10 a.m. Kimberly Warner, 36, Greencastle and Jennifer Hassler, Greencastle, were at a garage sale. Hassler's vehicle was parked on the side of the road and Warner's car was parked and the driveway. When Warner began to leave she backed into Hassler's vehicle.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

* At 7:30 p.m. Andrew Harrison, 16, Greencastle, was traveling westbound on C.R. 100 South and looked down. When he looked back up it was too late and he struck a mailbox. He then tried to get his car back onto the roadway but couldn't and went through a fence.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

Greencastle Fire Dept.

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to several runs recently.

* At 7:34 a.m., Thursday, a crew was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at 405 N. Jackson St. One of the vehicles had struck a fire hydrant and one patient was involved. They returned to station at 8:04 a.m.

* At 8:06 a.m., they were dispatched to S.R. 240 East in front of Chiyoda for a two-vehicle accident. They helped with extrication and lifting of one patient. The fire department also took care of cleanup of fluid and debris. They returned to station at 8:31 a.m.

* At 8:30 a.m., they responded to 1033 Ave. E for a medical assist with Operation Life. The crew returned to station at 9:13 a.m.

* At 10:03 a.m., crews responded to a call of limbs hitting power lines, causing them to spark at 368 S. C.R. 200 East. The fire department contacted REMC and was released from the scene when and REMC crew arrived at 10:22 a.m.

* At 6 p.m. Friday, crews responded to a fuel spill at a gas station at 1157 Indianapolis Rd. They cleaned up approximately five gallons of gas. They returned to station at 6:18 p.m.

Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently:

* Diane McCarty, 47, Greencastle, was booked at 10:26 p.m. Thursday for contempt of court.

* John McCarty, 49, Greencastle, was booked at 10:59 p.m. Thursday for failure to appear.

* Scott Engelking, 44, Greencastle, was booked at 3:10 a.m. Friday for interfering with reporting a crime.

* Adam Haberle, 26, Greencastle, was booked at 4:53 a.m. Friday for theft, trespass and public intoxication.

* Matthew Swager, 22, Greencastle, was booked at 5:25 p.m. Friday for public intoxication and theft.
