Eagle softball clinches WCC title in 10-0 win

The South Putnam Eagles seized the West Central Conference title with its 10-0 defeat of Speedway Monday night. The Eagles move to 16-3 on the season with the win.
South Putnam got on the board early, scoring three runs in the first and an additional three runs in the fifth. The game came to a close in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Eagles scored their 10th run of the night.
Samantha Tomasino pitched a complete game, allowing only three hits over six innings.
Meghan Canary had three doubles and three RBIs for the Eagles, while Oceaia Boetjer added a triple. Senior Samantha Stanifer was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
South Putnam will travel to Speedway at 5 p.m. today.
