Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail.

* Steven Smith, 24, Cloverdale, was booked at 1:16 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication and violation of home detention.

* Zachary Bales, 24, Martinsville, was booked at 1:36 a.m. Saturday for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

* Sylvia Kenworthy, 45, Greencastle, was booked at 4:14 a.m. Saturday for operating while intoxicated.

* John Fitzpatrick, 46, Greencastle, was booked at 12:24 a.m. Sunday for refusal to submit to a chemical test and operating while intoxicated.

* Johnathan Miller, 25, Springboro, OH, was booked at 5:11 a.m. Sunday for public intoxication and operating while intoxicated.

* Bryan McFadden, 24, Cloverdale, was booked at 1:41 a.m. Monday for operating while intoxicated.

Sheriff's Dept.

Several accidents were investigated recently by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

* On May 4 at 8:30 a.m., Carla Lawson, 39, Stilesville, was traveling south on US 231 and struck a deer in the roadway.

Damage estimates were between $1,000 - $2,500.

* At 12:30 a.m., Tonda Perkins, 47, Greencastle, was eastbound on SR 240 and passed a westbound pickup that was pulling a trailer. She stated that a piece of glass fell from a cabinet on the trailer and hit her car causing damage between $750 - $1, 000.

* On May 5 at 6:50 a.m., Roger Phillips, 70, Marshall, was traveling east on US 36 and struck a deer in the roadway.

Damage estimates were between $2,500 - $5,000.

* On May 6 at 2:25 a.m., Brian Johnson, 36, Fishers, was eastbound on US 36 when a deer ran into his path and he was unable to avoid it.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

*?On May 9 at 8 p.m. Sarah McEnulty, 18, Coatesville, stated she attempted to leave Tractor Supply Co. parking lot and did not see Tonnie Rubeck, 23, Greencastle, until it was too late.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* On May 10, at 3:28 a.m., Raymond Capps, was northbound on SR 243 and due to fog he was unable to see a deer in the roadway.

Damage estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

* At 9:28 p.m. Eric Arnold, 26, Coatesville, was eastbound on US 40 when a deer entered the roadway and he was unable to avoid hitting it.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

* At 11:15 p.m., Shawn Osterhoudt, 22, Ladoga, was westbound on SR 236 when three deer entered into the roadway and he was unable to miss them, hitting two.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* On May 11 at 1:05 p.m., Derek Tomaw, 18, Greencastle, was northbound on Manhattan Road rounding a curve and lost control due to water in the roadway sliding into a ditch.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.
