O'Hair assumes leading role

Putnam County resident Janet O'Hair recently assumed the office of President of the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS). She has over 25 years of experience as a medical staff service specialist,

She is currently Manager of Medical Affairs Department at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers, Beech Grove/Indianapolis.

O'Hair has been an active member of NAMSS since 1987, and has served on the Board of Directors for over five years. She served as Treasurer on the Executive Board previously, the Conference Committee Board and the Editorial Board for National Publication. She is also an active member of the state chapter, Indiana Association Medical Staff Services.

Medical Staff Specialists are responsible for ensuring the process of credentialing physicians and licensed healthcare practitioners is completed appropriately. These specialists conduct a primary source verification search of a practitioner's education, training and experience, all of which affect the quality and safety of patient care.

NAMSS administers two certification programs that measure knowledge of current industry standards and practices. O'Hair possess dual certification as a Certified Professional in Medical Services management and as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist through the NAMSS certification program.

She lives in Putnam County near Greencastle with her husband Dennis O'Hair.
