North Putnam edges Cadets in the rain

Friday, May 16, 2008

Thursday's match between the golf team from North Putnam and Cascade was a tight one -- a very tight one. The Cougars slipped past the Cadets 151-153 to get the win.

Jeremy Redman led the Cougars with a one-under par 35. Two teammates also scored in the 30s. J.J .Burns carded a 37 and Patrick Byrd had a 39. Austin Malayer and Aaron Vondersaar each shot a 40 for the Cougars. Kyle Smith was North Putnam's final scorer on varsity with a 42.

"Jeremy has been playing very good golf lately," North Putnam head coach David Fox said. "I felt he was just about to break out. He had three birdies to go with two bogies."

The North Putnam junior varsity team lost to Cascade 147-169.
