GREENWOOD -- The curtain closed on the high school tennis career of Greencastle senior Kelsey Hennette Wednesday night. She lost at the Center Grove Regional in straight sets 6-3 and 6-0.

Hennette faced Whiteland's Brittney Counts at the regional competition. GHS head coach Trish Lowe explained that both players exhibited both power and finesse, but Counts was too much in the end for Hennette to overcome.

"I'm just really proud of Kelsey and her achievements this year," Lowe said. "She played a nice match. The first set she played very well. Both girls used a lot of power and well-placed shots. Kelsey eventually just started making some unforced errors with Brittney's power. Kelsey just finally gave in and lost a difficult match."

Hennette finished the season with a record of 13-4 and Lowe expressed her contributions to the GHS tennis program over the past four years.

"I was proud of her great season. Kelsey was a great contributor to our program for the past four years," Lowe commented.
