James R. "Jim" Albin, 60, of Greencastle died Sunday.

Mr. Albin was born March 18, 1948 in Greencastle to Wilmer J. and Julia M. (Friend) Albin. He was a 1966 graduate of Bainbridge High School and received his associate's degree from Indiana State University.

His law enforcement career began with the Vigo County Sheriff's Department, and he served as Bainbridge town marshal and was a private investigator with Carson Secret Service in Lawrence.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Juanita Albin of Indianapolis; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Albin and Michael Lewis of Indianapolis; his mother, Julia Albin Johnson of Greencastle; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Catherine Albin of Greencastle; a close friend, Judy Haskett; and two grandsons.

His father preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Calling is today from 4 to 8 p.m.

Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery.
