Quarter horse events coming to Cloverdale

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

CLOVERDALE -- Two national events are set to take place at the Crossroads Arena in Cloverdale.

The first, the Indiana Quarter Horse Association Show, will run Thursday through Sunday.

This show, which is American Quarter Horse Association-approved, will test the abilities of participating animals in dozens of different classes and events, including jumping, reining, barrel racing, cutting, roping and pole bending.

There will also be halter class competition.

Riders who show at AQHA shows earn points that are converted into awards or cash prizes at the end of the year. They can also qualify to compete at higher levels.

"We welcome all American Quarter Horse owners, as well as anyone who has a passion for horses," said Bill Brewer, AQHA executive vice president.

July 5 and 6 Crossroads will host the IQHA Show N' Go. The same classes and events will be featured at this show, which is also AQHA-approved.
