Andrade earns honor from ESPN

DePauw senior tennis player Erin Andrade has been selected to the ESPN The Magazine At-Large Academic All-America Third Team.

Andrade, a magna cum laude graduate as a biochemistry major with a 3.78 cumulative grade point average at the time of her selection, was a Presidential Rector Scholar and a Science Research Fellow at DePauw

An all-America doubles honoree this year after reaching the NCAA Division III quarterfinals with Kayla Smith, Andrade posted a 28-12 doubles record including a 19-8 mark in dual matches.

In four seasons Andrade recorded a 79-21 doubles record and advanced to Division III doubles quarterfinals in 2006 while earning all-America honors. She finished sixth at Intercollegiate Tennis Association doubles championship in 2005 after winning the Central Region title.

Andrade led DePauw to a 22-5 record this year as the Tigers won their first outright Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title and advanced to the Division III third round. The Tigers were ranked eighth in final national regular season poll.

The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program and the team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Nominees must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve.
