TERRE HAUTE -- In boy's soccer action Tuesday night, Greencastle handed the host Terre Haute South Braves a pair of 3-1 losses.

The JV match saw Greencastle dominate the first half as the Tiger Cubs were up 3-0 on goals from Jon Good, Sonney Basham and Cody Watson. Terre

Haute's Tyler King spoiled the shutout in the second half when he scored with 11:52 to play.

In the varsity match the Tiger Cubs found themselves playing from behind once again as Braves junior Allen Keegan scored in the opening minutes to put the Braves ahead 1-0.

The Tiger Cubs kept pressure on the ball and were able to tie the score with 14:50 to play in the first half when Greg Lilly passed through to Spencer Moore who was able to beat the Braves keeper Jordan Welsh. The score remained tied at the break.

Greencastle came out strong in the second half and controlled the ball well. With 28:56 left in the match, Spencer Moore added his second goal of the evening, with the assist coming from his brother Griffin.

"Spencer has been battling a cold and I gave him a little extra rest at the break. It was really warm last night and Griffin wanted a little more time out also. It worked well as they connected to give us the lead within minutes of entering the game," GHS coach Dave Lilly said.

Terre Haute South tried to battle back and had several good possessions throughout the half, but Ryan Payne was solid in the goal, recording seven saves in the period. Greencastle effectively sealed the win when freshman Mitchell Ball headed in a corner kick delivered by Griffin Moore with 20:14 remaining.

The Tiger Cubs positioned themselves in a more defensive alignment for the balance of the game.
