Susan Wertz Cozart, 51, of Rye, Colo., passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 24, 2008 near her home.

She was born on Dec. 17, 1956 in Beech Grove to Glenn E. and Delores Hyten Wertz. Sue was a graduate of Andover High School in Michigan and Western Michigan University.

She was employed as an accountant at TruGreen in Colorado Springs and operated her own Internet woodworking business (www.ranchcrafts.com). Sue was active with the Susan B. Komen Foundation for the Cure, raising funds for breast cancer research.

She loved the outdoors, was an avid walker and photographer. She loved animals, especially her dog Custer and horses Misty and Apache. Sue was devoted to serving God and developed a shared ministry with a close friend (www.CI-Seminars.org).

Her father, grandparents, Donald and Norma Hyten and Ralph Wertz and Luella Wertz Riddle preceded her in death.

Surviving are her mother, Delores Wertz of Greenwood; a brother, Dr. David (Martha) Wertz of Denver, Colo.; seven nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Susan's Life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. at Brick Chapel United Methodist Church, 3547 North US Highway 231, Greencastle. Inurnment will follow in Brick Chapel Cemetery.
