South Putnam volleyball drops a pair of matches this week

The South Putnam Eagles volleyball team lost two matches this week.

On Monday night the Eagles lost at home to Southmont in four games, 25-20,19-25,25-27,13-25.

Emily Dabkowski led the Eagles with 13 points, three kills, and six assists. Next was Abbie Trauner with 12 points, three aces, two kills and 12 digs. Followed by Trauner was Kaleigh Miller with eight points, two aces, four assists, and one dig.

Other notable players were Katelyn Sibbitt with 14 digs, and Ashley Wombles with two kills, and 13 blocks.

On Tuesday night the Eagles lost to Covenant Christian in four games, 25-16,14-25,11-25,23-25.

Sibbitt led the Eagles with nine points, two aces, and nine digs. Next was Megan Klotz with eight points, three aces, and seven digs.

Dabkowski was next with seven points, one ace, four assists, and five digs. Oceaia Boetjer had six points, four aces, three aces, and three digs. Other notables were Trauner with 14 digs, Brooke Boetjer with eight blocks, and Wombles with five blocks.

The Eagles are now 5-7 and will be back in action Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the Shakamak Invitational.
