Michael Ratts

Michael L. Ratts, 60, of Jamestown, died Oct. 13, 2008 at Parkwood Healthcare Center after a short battle with cancer.

Michael was born Sept. 9, 1948, in Martinsville, to the late Ira and Bernice (Shields) Ratts. He married Sharon Chestnut Ratts on Oct. 15, 1982, and she survives.

Other survivors include his children, Dawn Prince and husband Brad, of Mooresvillle, Robert Brooks of Jamestown and Julie Johnson and husband Todd, of Crawfordsville; brothers, Dr. Larry Ratts of Bloomington and Edwin Ratts and wife Nancy, of Eminence; grandchildren, Cierra Brooks, Sherry Prince, Kelsey Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Tabitha Prince, Michael Brooks, Krista Brooks and Felicity Brooks and five nieces.

Michael was a talented musician, having played the guitar and bass with the Legend Band and the Just "a" Whim Band.

He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Rider Club, Chapter A-2 of Lebanon. Michael was employed as a shipping clerk with the Guitar Center Distribution Center for the last three-and-a-half years.

Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15 with Pastor Lee Foust officiating the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16 in the Drury and Leppert Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon.
