Contributions will benefit bus driver
To the Editor:
At the recent South Putnam-Cloverdale football game, the South Putnam bus drivers conducted a fundraiser for Phyllis Curry.
Phyllis is one of our drivers, and she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The response we received from our bake sale and the student council "passing the blanket" was tremendous. Your kindness resulted in contributions of $1,144.
This is the equivalent of 24 sick days that Phyllis can utilize for treatments. Phyllis' comment was, "There must have been a lot of angels there that night."
This is the kind of person Phyllis is.
I want to sincerely thank the staff at South Putnam High School, the South Putnam Student Council, South Putnam fans, Cloverdale patrons and the "angel" bus drivers at South Putnam for their wonderful efforts.
