Putnam County Jail

Some arrests were made Tuesday by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

James Washington, 22, Greencastle was booked at 2:20 p.m. for failure to appear.

Matthew C. Compton, 23, Terre Haute, was booked in at 2:41 p.m. for non-support of a child.

Russell A. Hunt, 38, Reelsville, was booked at 3:47 p.m. for probation violation.

Teresa L. Belle, 44, Indianapolis, was booked at 6:37 p.m. for probation violation.

Sheriff's Department

There were two traffic accidents reported by the sheriff's office.

Detective Mike Biggs was following Dorothy J. Hamblen, 65, of Cloverdale, at 11:55 a.m. Monday, when a deer jumped a guardrail on County Road 1000 S. Hamblen was unable to avoid hitting the animal causing extensive damage to the front, right side of her vehicle.

Derrick S. Evans, 20, Cloverdale, was exiting the driveway of 9582 S. County Road 775 E. at 11 a.m. Tuesday attempting to make a right turn. There was a large bush blocking Evans' view and he did not see a county highway truck being driven by Michael S. Ricketts, 28, of Rockville. Evans hit the front bumper of Ricketts' county highway truck. No damage was done to the truck.
