Dorman R. Roe 78, of North Salem passed away at his residence on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at 10:35 a.m.

He was born on October 4, 1930 in North Salem to Bert and Mary Mae Miller Roe. He married Judith Bartlett and she passed away on Oct. 23, 1963. He then married Flora F. Newhouse on May 25, 1966 in Greencastle and she survives.

Mr. Roe was a farmer, carpenter and had worked at Putnam County Hospital in maintenance. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at Barnard and the Tri-County Gas Engine Association.

Other survivors include sons Ronald L. Roe and wife Teena of Washington, Ind. and Mark Roe of North Salem; daughter Vicki App of Greencastle, five grandchildren, Bridgett Davis and husband James, Brad App, Kimberly Boyd and husband Trent, April Plessinger, Kelly Durnil and husband Jake; brother Gene Roe and wife Beulah of Roachdale and sister-in-law Annabelle Roe of Crawfordsville.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and six brothers.

Services will be at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home at 102 E. Washington St. at Roachdale on Monday, Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tony Roe officiating. Burial will be at Roachdale Cemetery

Calling was Sunday at the funeral home.
