Dorothy M. Miller

Dorothy M. Miller, 82, of Greencastle passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center in Avon.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1926 in Indianapolis to Leonard Herbert and Zelma Faith Keller Bennett. She married Robert Lawrence Miller Sr. on Nov. 5, 1945 and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1997.

Mrs. Miller was a member of Fillmore United Methodist Church and had worked as an assembler at Naval Avionics and RCA in Indianapolis.

Survivors include daughters Sandra Smith of Greencastle and Shawn Hughes and husband Richard of Greenwood; sons Robert L. Miller and wife Patricia of Plainfield, Stephen Miller and wife Cheryle of Greenfield and Randall B. Miller and wife Linda of Indianapolis; sisters Donnis Buis of Greencastle and Roseanna Fleener of Greenwood; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughters Susan Lynn Melcher and Sherry Rowe, sister Norma Trammell, brothers Charles Bennett and H. Leon Bennett and granddaughter Lindsey Marie Miller.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale with Rev. Dr. Bryan Palmer-Smith officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Chapel Cemetery, Cloverdale.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
