Richard Julius Stommel

Richard Julius Stommel, 80, Brazil, died at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Richard was born Oct. 20, 1928, in Detroit, Mich., as the son of Stephan Lewis and Dorothy Kunze.

He worked as a supervisor in manufacturing plants. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He parents and first wife preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Sue Stommel; four children, Phillip Stommel, Patty Shelly, Karen Nedeau and Karl Stommel; and six grandchildren.
