Hospital launches Web site

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Putnam County Hospital has launched a Web site in an effort to better inform area residents of the services the hospital has to offer.

The Web site will allow for a new demographic to be reached. This is one of the "positive aspects" of the creation of the website, noted Jennifer Bedwell, marketing coordinator at PCH.

Patients, residents and individuals looking to move to the Greencastle area will find the site greatly beneficial. Information on the hospital, the local area and physicians is accessible at www.pchosp.org

One highlight of the site includes the physician directory complete with photos. Users can search for a physician by name, gender or specialty. Once a physician is selected, users can find more information such as office hours and phone numbers.

The Web site also provides copies of printable forms, such as the parental medical consent form. This form allows a minor to be treated while in the care of a babysitter if an emergent need arises.

"This form provides the necessary information our medical staff needs to ensure proper care," said Bedwell. "It is important that every parent leave a consent form with every babysitter, every time."

Additional features include insurance information, employment opportunities, information on support groups and upcoming events, a clinical calendar and the option of submitting questions and comments via the "contact us" tab.

Bedwell assures posted questions will be answered in a timely manner.

While the Web site is functional, additional features are in the works.

"Soon we will have an Online employment application and an Online nursery, where loved ones will be able to log on and view photos of their family's newborn," Bedwell stated.

The public is encouraged to visit www.pchosp.org, to learn more about what Putnam County Hospital has to offer.
