Velma L. Goldsberry

Velma L. Goldsberry, age 89, of Greencastle passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at the Mill Pond Health Campus.

Born March 1, 1919 in Evansville, she was the daughter of Edward and Christine (Kuhlenschmidt) Stremming. She was a graduate of Millersburg High School class of 1936. She married Thomas B. Goldsberry on Dec. 23, 1937 and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2008.

Mrs. Goldsberry had been a homemaker and a cook at the Fillmore Elementary School and Union City High School. She was a member of the Cloverdale United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Dixie Wilson and husband Harve of Eminence, Jim Goldsberry and wife Vivian of Greencastle, Ken Goldsberry and wife Diane of Loveland, Colo., Donna Webster and husband Dick of Union City, Marla Parks and husband Mike of Cloverdale, Cay Sibbitt of Greencastle and Lynn Adams and husband Dan of Terre Haute; 23 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Rick Wilson, brother Earl Stremming and three sisters, Eleanor Ahrens, Edna Neumaster and Velada Brammer.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20 at Wellspring Christian Church, 3256 S. C.R. 725 E. (corner of US Hwy 40 and Belle Union Rd., east of Mt. Meridian) with Pastor Brett Parks officiating. A private entombment will be held.

Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
