Menzel powers Kenyon College swim team this season

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Senior Tracy Menzel, a product of Greencastle High School, has been one of the top performers for the Kenyon College women's swim team throughout the 2008-09 season. Menzel, who competes in freestyle and breaststroke events, has had a hand in three of the Ladies' fastest times this season.

Menzel set the bar in all of the events during last month's Nike Invitational. Over the course of the three-day event, Menzel turned in season-best times individually in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.94) and as a member of the 200 medley (1:44.18) and 400 medley (3:46.87) relay squads. Not only are Menzel's efforts in team-bests, but they also rank as the fastest finishes nationwide this season in the three events.

Menzel and the Ladies are gearing up for the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships February 12-14 in Canton, Ohio. After that, Kenyon will compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship in Minneapolis, Minnesota March 18-21. If the Ladies are successful at the meet, they will claim their 23rd national championship in the past 26 years.
