Charles Henry "Charlie" Wilson, 70, of Fillmore died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at Putnam County Hospital.

Born April 18, 1938 in Wilbur Township, Mich., he was the son of Claude and Mabel Goodale Wilson. He received his bachelor's degree in industrial arts education from Michigan State University in 1963. He married Lynn Snite on February 14, 1977 and she survives.

Mr. Wilson had been the director of the residence halls and food services at DePauw University for 12 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Greencastle; the Cloverdale Conservation Club; chairman of the West Central Chapter of Quail Unlimited; and an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Charles Wilson and wife Katarzyna of Fillmore and Patrick T. McKenna Jr. and fiancée Leslee Brown of Coatesville; four daughters, Susan Wright and husband Steve of Grand Ledge, Mich., Alicia Boatright of Denver, Colo., Kelly Reilly and husband Phil of Medfield, Mass. and Linda Thompson and husband Cory of Holly, Colo.; two brothers; a sister; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Masonic Lodge rites.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. on Saturday until time of service.
