South Putnam hosted North Putnam and Greencastle in the Putnam County boys' freshman basketball tournament Saturday.

As Cloverdale did not field a freshman team this year, the tournament was played in a three-team, round-robin format with each team playing two games.

South Putnam earned two wins against no losses during the day to win the championship title, by defeating Greencastle in the first game of the day, 47-36, and defeating North Putnam in the third and final game of the day, 28-24.

Greencastle defeated North Putnam in the second game of the day, 41-22, to end the day with a record of 1-1, and the Cougars ended the day with a record of 0-2.
