Ida Mae Scott, 70, of Yorktown, Texas died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 at Cuero Community Hospital

She was born Feb. 18, 1938 in Putnamville to Charles and Mary Alexander Renfro. She was a graduate of Cloverdale High School. On May 18, 1955 she married Cecil D. Scott, and he survives.

Mrs. Scott was raised in Putnam County and was one of the first women employed by Lone Star Industries. In 1980, she moved to Texas with her husband and has lived there since.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Diana Dugie and husband Mark of Yorktown and Debra Scarbro and husband Kevin of Denham Springs, La.; two sons, Mark Scott and wife Melony of Greencastle and Gary Scott and wife Susan of Hermitage, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister Joan Olson and husband Hughes of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; and two brothers, Charles Renfro of Putnamville and Robert Renfro and wife Sharon of Clute, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter.

Her body was donated for the purposes of medical research.
