GMS picks up to wins

The Greencastle seventh grade girls basketball A and B-teams battled South Putnam Thursday. The A-team won 26-13, while the B-team won 16-15.

After the Eagles took a 9-5 lead at the half, GMS outscored South Putnam 21-4 in the second half to get the win.

Shelby Earl led Greencastle with 16 points, with Miranda Nuz adding five and Melody White and Corrine Trigg chipping in two. Shelby Bonebrake closed out the GMS scoring with one point.

The Eagles were led by Mariah Lee with seven points.

Alyssa Tesmer, Jessica Strezlic and Devon Cox led the Greencastle B-team with four points each as Alina Carillo added two and Maddi Gari one.

Megan Gutherie led the Eagles with six points.

Greencastle will host North Putnam at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
