Donald G. Bruin, 72, of Rockville died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at The Waters of Clinton.

He was born March 28, 1935 in Ashland, N.H. to Cecil and Ella Jordan Bruin. He attended Marshall High School. He married Dorothy Wheatfill Bruin, and she survives.

Mr. Bruin retired from the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served in Vietnam as an air traffic controller. He was formerly the minister of the Marshall Baptist Church in Marshall, Bethel Baptist Church in Fillmore, Unity Baptist Church in Brown County, Dana First Baptist Church in Dana and Oakdale Baptist Church in Peru.

He had volunteered at Vietnamese orphanages and also did work for Toys for Tots in Hamilton, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife; son Daniel Bruin and wife Dawn of Montezuma; daughter LaDonna Ryan and husband Charles of Waveland; five grandchildren, Megan Brown, LaGina Carolton, Teresa Taylor, Timothy Ryan and Laura Myers; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Marshall Baptist Church with the Rev. William Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Barnes and Rice Funeral Home in Rockville.
