Two injured in Friday crash

BAINBRIDGE -- Two men were hospitalized Friday after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on S.R. 36 near Bainbridge just before 2 p.m.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jon Chadd said John Dresbach, 38, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix westbound when, for an unknown reason, he crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Dodge pickup truck driven by Timothy Christian, 52, of Indianapolis.

"There are no signs that alcohol or drugs were a factor," Chadd said.

The accident occurred on S.R. 36 about a half-mile east of C.R. 300E. Chadd said he believed Dresbach, who was taken by PHI Air Ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, had sustained "internal, non-lifethreatening" injuries.

A Methodist Hospital spokesperson said late Friday that Dreshbach was still being evaluated and that no condition for him had been determined.

Christian was taken by ambulance to Hendricks Regional Health in Danville. A phone call to Hendricks late Friday requesting a status update on Christian was not returned.

Two passengers in Dresbach's vehicle, a woman and a minor child, were uninjured in the crash.

Also assisting at the scene were representatives from the Indiana State Police, Operation Life, Bainbridge Fire Department and PMH Ambulance.

Rescue personnel were on the scene until about 4:10 p.m., Chadd said.
