South Putnam finishes first

The South Putnam Eagles Junior High wrestling team traveled to North Putnam last Thursday for a three-way meet, finishing first.

The Eagles beat Tri-West Middle School 64-44 in the first match. Then the Eagles beat their county rival North Putnam 93-24 in the second match.

Going 2-0 on the day were wrestlers Evan Potts (100), Tyler Martin (120), Rhaine Cluggish (135), Sam Sloan (140), Rudy Harris (145), Brandon Smith (155) and Tanner Thompson (165).

Going 1-1 on the day were Nick Owen (75), Collin Berry (80), Klayton Vittetow (85), Anthony Hendricks (90), Zane Crosby (95), Joe Waters (105), Ian Zeffel (115), Marcus Skinner (125), Trent Workman (130), Ryan Chestnut (185) and Jacob Williams (220).

The Eagles will battle against South Vermillion today starting at 6 p.m.
