GHS presents all-female version of The Odd Couple
Neil Simon is alive and well on the Greencastle High School stage with their production this weekend of The Odd Couple (the female version). Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
This version of Neil Simon's classic comedy closely follows the same story line as the original, except the lead, mismatched characters are Olive Madison rather than Oscar and Florence Unger instead of Felix. Much of the dialogue is even the same.
GHS senior Kullan Edberg (Olive) and junior Ashley Smith (Florence) have taken on these roles.
Olive and Florence socialize with four friends: Sylvie (freshman Kaeli Gray), Mickey (junior Ashley Holmes, Renee (senior Michelle Nguyen, and Vera (junior Sarah Tran).
Olive sets up a double date for her and Florence with two wild and crazy guys: Manolo (sophomore Aaron Hunter) and Jesus--as Olive says, "You don't pronounce the J." Jesus is played by senior Nick Tongret.
The production is directed by Bethany Girton with assistance from student director Kenny Buchanan. The technical director is Bob Hedge.
Doors open both nights at 7 p.m. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students and are available at the door.
