North Putnam swimming falls to Warriors

The North Putnam swim teams battled Danville Wednesday, with both squads suffering defeats. The boys lost 108-74, while the girls lost 107-71.

For the boys, Dane Gray won two events, Joe Lehr one with Zach Moore setting a record in diving. Gray won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:32.85 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:05.25. Lehr captured the 100-yard backstroke in 1:19.62 and Moore's total of 145.45 set a new mark in the diving event.

Caroline Byrd and Halsey Foltz finished with two individual wins and were part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team.

Byrd won the 100-yard IM in 1:12.80 and set a record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 31.54. Foltz captured the 50-yard freestyle in 28.88 and the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:17.87.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Foltz, Byrd, Tia Scoggan and Molly Wilcox won in a time of 2:01.26.

The Cougars will be back in action Monday at Greencastle beginning at 6 p.m.
