Web site already helping Sheriff's Department
Two of Putnam County's "Most Wanted" criminals have been captured after their photos and charges were publicized on the Sheriff's Department Web site at www.putnam-sheriff.com.
"Sharing information via the Web site allows the public to be more involved in keeping our communities safe," Sheriff Steve Fenwick said of the Top 10 list. "We encourage people to submit any tips, because info that may seem insignificant could be the tip that gets a criminal off the streets."
Daniel Ernest Crickmore, 25, Nashville, was arrested Wednesday evening on a traffic stop after being spotted in Cloverdale by an off-duty county 911 dispatcher at the KFC restaurant.
After the dispatcher reported Crickmore's location, officers from the Cloverdale Police Department, Indiana State Police and Putnam County Sheriff's Department responded to the area. They stopped his car en route to a residence in Stardust Hills.
Crickmore was wanted on charges of dealing in methamphetamines and dealing in a controlled substance, both Class A felonies, and the Class B felony of conspiracy.
Also, James Brent Alexander, 45, Indianapolis, has been arrested by Indiana State Police, who located him in Indianapolis.
Alexander was wanted on charges of Class C felony burglary, and Class A misdemeanor battery.
A citizen tip has also identified the location of Clyde Hatfield, 41, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, who is wanted in Putnam County for Class C felony child molestation.
Hatfield is registered with the State of Tennessee sex offender registry, and authorities there are seeking him for arrest and transport to Putnam County.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Department added the "Top 10 Most Wanted" list to its Web site in January at www.putnam-sheriff.org
