Ann Rabatin, 81, of Avon and formerly of Greencastle died on Monday, March 16, 2009.

Mrs. Rabatin was born on July 18, 1927 in Czechoslovakia to Peter Hlavaty and Helen Molent Hlavaty. She was a member of St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Judith A. Berry of Muncie; a sister, Helen Goodrich and husband Herb of Hammond; a brother, Peter Hlavaty of Whiting; seven grandchildren, Annie Froehlich and husband Bill of Traverse City, Mich., Megan Inman and husband Charles of Greencastle, Katie Barger and husband Jeremy of Greencastle, Ryan Rabatin and wife Robyn of Delray Beach, Fla., K.C. Rabatin of Boulder, Colo., Tally Rabatin of Bellingham, Wash. and Skylar Rabatin of Bellingham; and four great-grandchildren, Noah Froehlich, Ella Froehlich, Brayden Inman and Clara Barger.

Her parents; husband George Rabatin; son George A. Rabatin; and sister, Julie Hlavaty, preceded her in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, 202 East Washington Street, with Father Steve Jarrell as celebrant. Burial will follow at Zionsville Cemetery.

Calling will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m.
