Tickets available for CPC fundraiser

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Tickets are now available for the 2009 Care Net Pregnancy Center of Putnam County annual fundraising banquet. This year's event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. April 16 at Greencastle Christian Church, 620 Primrose Lane. It will be catered by Putnam Inn.

The program will feature a video titled "Love Never Fails," which is an intimate look at the ministry of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Putnam County.

During the banquet, the James M. Hammond Memorial Excellence in ministry award will be presented to CPC's volunteer of the year. The Floyd K. Miller Memorial Outstanding Church Participation award will also be presented at the event.

In December 2008, Care Net (formerly Crisis Pregnancy Center of Putnam County) moved from its home of nearly 15 years to its new location at 12 N. Jackson St., in the historic opera house on the west side of the square.

Care Net is a not-for-profit organization supported solely by contributions of individuals, churches and businesses in Putnam County. CPC does not receive any federal or state funding to operate. All services of Care Net are confidential and free of charge.

Care Net's ministry is guided by a board of directors, which includes board chairman Dennis Staley; vice president Beth Fajt; secretary Sandra Nicholson; treasurer Monty Montgomery; and members Mark Miller, David Neeley, Susan Price and Ken Steinborn.

Care Net operates with a staff of trained, caring volunteer client advocates under the direction of executive director Shelly McFadden and interim client services director Jennifer Bousman.

In addition, banquet sponsorship opportunities are available.
