Kay A. Thompson, 67, of Greencastle died Saturday, April 4, 2009.

She was born Sept. 9, 1941 in Terre Haute to George F. and Norma E. Webster Sutherlin.

Mrs. Thompson retired from the Division of Family and Children's Services after 27 years of service.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Gary, whom she married on Sept. 11, 1959; two children, Sherry Rogers and husband, Ralph of Brazil and Mike Thompson of Greencastle; a brother, David Sutherlin and wife, Pam of Cloverdale; sister, Patty Fowler of Greencastle; four grandchildren, Angie Brewer and husband, Jason, Brandy Baker and husband, Jack, Autumn Thompson and Mikey Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Jasmine Rogers and Levi Baker.

Kay loved to spend time with her family and friends, and enjoyed shopping, crafts, square dancing and travel.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, 4 North Percy L. Julian Drive, Greencastle, with the Rev. Paul Bowen officiating.

Interment will follow at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
