Chamber hosting internship seminar

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

The Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce will be hosting "Indiana Internships: Moving Students from the Classroom to the Boardroom" from noon to 1:30 p.m. April 24 at Windy Hill Country Club.

No matter how large or small, companies can benefit from hiring an intern this summer. Now more than ever, today's challenging business environment offers an opportunity to access talented student interns willing to put their creative energy to work.

The program will teach participants how easy it is to get an internship program designed and implemented. Indiana INTERNet Executive Director Pam Norman will moderate an interactive panel of experienced local internship employers as they highlight how to make a solid business case for hiring an intern.

The program will help employers discover how to access a source of labor to help meet business goals, learn how to design an internship program and get best practices contained in the Indiana Employer's Guide to Internships.

The cost is $15 per Chamber member and includes lunch and an internship manual. The public is also invited to the event. For a registration form or for more information, contact Tammy Amor at 653-4517 or gchamber@gogreencastle.com

Registration forms are due by April 20, and should be mailed to the Chamber of Commerce at: 16 S. Jackson St., Greencastle, IN 46135 or faxed to 848-1015.
