Bikes invade Putnam Park
MOUNT MERIDIAN -- Motorcycle enthusiasts filled Putnam Park Road Course, 5251 S CR 550E, this past weekend for the Northeast Sportsbike Association ride clinic. It was a two-day event, where motorcyclists are given the opportunity to ride in a controlled environment.
Safety is the number one concern at the park, stated Russ Evans, a part-time member of the park's safety crew.
Riders are divided into three groups - novice, intermediate and advance. Controlled riders travel the course with riders during their 20 minute session and evaluate their skills.
Advanced riders can reach up to 130 mph on the 1.77 mile paved road course.
The clinic will be held again June 13-14. The next event at Putnam Park is Diasio sports car annual reunion Friday through Sunday.
