Letter to the Editor

Support group thanks its many supporters

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Caregivers' Support Group, I would like to publicly say thank you to all of the businesses, agencies, organizations, and individuals who helped to make our "Care Fair" at the National Guard Armory on April 14 a success.

Without the generous support, assistance, and financial contributions of each and every one, we would not have been able to pull off such an undertaking in our attempt to honor and recognize our many local caregivers for the wonderful role they play in our community. The date coincided with the observance of our third anniversary as an "official group," but our purpose and intent is really to celebrate all caregivers both "family," "private," and "professional" -- and we say "thank you!" to all of you, as well.

I pray I have not unintentionally left anyone out, and I apologize if I have.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the following: Air Evac, Alex Alleys, Alice Plemons, Alvin Little, Alzheimer's Support Group, Anderson's Medical Products, Autumn Glen, Banner Graphic, Beverly Fisher, Boatright Dental Group, Bob and Thelma Benson, Rev. Bob and Jane Muncie, Bob Roberts, Bryan Allen, Carol Sperback, Carol Sweet, Case Chiropractic, P.C., Center for Women's Ministries, Community Partners, Crystal Stonebraker (Natural Therapeutics by Crystal), Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc., Dan and Barbara Allison, Dean Shugars, Dick Glass, Divine Design Flowers, Domino's Pizza, Edith Welliver, Eitel's Flowers and Gifts, the Elks Lodge, Elizabeth Romine, ETA International, Fairway Family Restaurant, Fishing Has No Boundaries, Foster Care Select, Frances Washburne, Gobin United Methodist Church, Greg Hedge, Greg Stephan, Greencastle Lions Club, Greencastle Music Center, Hamilton Center, Inc., Head Start, Hilltop Orchids, Hoosier Topics, Horizon Hospice Care, Identity Hair Design, Indiana Home Care Plus, Indiana National Guard, Ivy Tech School of Nursing faculty and students, Dr. Jamie Cooper, Jeff Rich, John Baughman, Johnene Presley-Wheat, Ken and Sallie Naillieux, Marian "Patience" Harvey, Marian Ullrich, Marsha Costin, Mary Linder, Mayor Sue Murray, Mike Mayle, McDonald's of Greencastle, Muffler Connection, Paul Stamper, Pizza Hut, Putnam County Comprehensive Services, Putnam County Emergency Operations Center, Putnam County Family Support Services, Putnam County Health Department, Putnam County Public Library, Putnam County Senior Center, Putnam Inn, Ralph Minarich, Rex and Sharon Dunn, "Rhonda" (from Veterans Affairs Service Office of Putnam County), Rural Transit of Putnam County, Sally Doub, Sharyl Caldwell, SHIP, Social Security Administration, Sonus Hearing, St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Rev. Although far too numerous to list, I would also like to acknowledge the support of all those entities in most of the communities throughout the county who allowed us to post our advertising flyers in their windows or on their bulletin boards.

Last, but certainly not least, I want to express my appreciation to all of our guests who chose to venture out on such a cool and drizzly day to help us celebrate -- because without you there would be no reason to organize such an event.
