DANVILLE -- The Greencastle boys' golf team defeated Crawfordsville and North Putnam Tuesday night. The Tiger Cubs scored 162 to win, with Crawfordsville scoring 173 for second and North Putnam was third with 220.

Greencastle got a huge performance from Luke Crimmins. The senior fired a 36 to lead the charge, with Brad Haussin adding a 40 and Wade Huber chipping in a 42. Jimmy Wheeler shot a 44, Raymond Stinson shot a 47 and Tyler Hopkins carded a 49.

"Luke had an outstanding performance," Greencastle head coach Donovan Wheeler said. "While everyone else was battling mental issues, he kept his focus on one shot at a time and gave us the game-breaking round we needed."

Although his team came away with the win, Wheeler saw his team give up shots early, but they were able to pull things together when it counted.

"Four holes into this thing, I thought we might let Crawfordsville get us. They started off hot, and we simply hemorrhaged shots all over the place, but Luke's round was instrumental in saving the day. He really bailed us out, tonight," he commented.
