Cloverdale Town Council member dies at 81

Friday, May 8, 2009

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale Town Council has unexpectedly lost one of its members. Glen Vickroy passed away Thursday at Hendricks Regional Hospital. He was 81.

Vickroy spent the past 18 to 20 years serving on various town boards with a current seat on the council. His vast experiences are what made him a likely candidate for a council member.

Council president Don Sublett described Vickroy as an even-tempered guy, which made him a "good person to have on the board."

The town's flag was lowered to half-staff Friday in Vickroy's honor.

In addition to his political career, Vickroy enjoyed working in the lawn and garden department of Walmart. He had retired as a truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Audra; three daughters Cindy Anderson and husband Gary of Cloverdale, Connie Galloway and husband Jack of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Cathy Tipton and husband Greg of Cloverdale; and four grandchildren.

For funeral information, see the full obituary online.
