Emily Cobble, Brazil, was traveling east on US 36 at 9:22 p.m. Sunday when a deer entered the roadway. Cobble was unable to avoid hitting the animal. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.
Ruth Floyd, Brazil, was traveling west on US 40 at 9:09 p.m. Sunday when two deer entered the roadway. Floyd attempted to avoid the animals, but was unable. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Amber Carter, Cloverdale, was traveling south on US 231 and was approaching the intersection at US 40 when she attempted to brake for a light, but lost control of her vehicle due to wet pavement. Carter's vehicle struck the back of a vehicle driven by Bobbie Sims of Cloverdale. Neither vehicle was towed from the scene. The accident occurred at 3:35 p.m. May 6. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.
Deborah Barnett, Greencastle, was traveling north on CR 50N at 3:40 p.m. May 3 when her vehicle left the roadway while rounding a curve. Barnett attempted to correct, but lost control of the vehicle before it struck a fence. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.
Kaleigh Miller, Coatesville, was exiting her driveway at 1799 CR 775E when a second vehicle driven by Danny Carter, Centerpoint, attempted to pull into the driveway. The two vehicles collided. The accident occurred at 6:16 p.m. April 21. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.
Putnam County Jail
A Brazil man was booked into the Putnam County Jail Saturday on several felony and misdemeanor charges including neglect of a dependent.
Twenty-six-year-old Robert Seay was taken into custody by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department at 8:51 p.m. He was booked on charges of possession of paraphernalia, a controlled substance and marijuana.
In addition, Seay as found to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Shonrick McDaniel, 35, Indianapolis, was booked at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday for possession of paraphernalia and marijuana, dealing in marijuana, receiving stolen property, auto theft, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test and resisting law enforcement using a vehicle.
McDaniel is also being charged with Class D felony habitual offender.
Rick Smith, 54, Akron, Ohio, was booked at 9:15 a.m. Saturday for false reporting or informing, identity deception, public intoxication and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Randell Pettit, 52, Terre Haute, was booked at 3:24 a.m. Saturday for operating while intoxicated.
Edward Calvert, 36, Hubert, N.C., was booked at 4:53 a.m. Saturday for public intoxication and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
David Custis, 28, Fillmore, was booked at 4:29 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Matthew Olsen, 30, Greencastle, was booked at 6:27 p.m. Sunday for a parole violation and possession of marijuana.
Brian Cox, 26, Greencastle, was booked at 10:54 p.m. Sunday for violating the terms of home detention.
Hank Weishaupt, 20, Brazil, was booked at 9:02 a.m. Monday for a probation violation.
Anthony Albright, 58, Greencastle, was booked at 12:05 p.m. Monday for operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator.
Michael Gilliam, 38, Greencastle, was booked at 1:33 p.m. Monday for domestic battery and battery with bodily injury.
David Mattox, 54, W. Terre Haute, was booked at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday for a probation violation.
